So I finally got my hands on the Guerlain Météorites Perles D’Étoile (earlier) which is part of Guerlain’s 2014 holiday collection. I got so excited when I saw an Instagram post by a fellow makeup lover, Ms. Romana from MyMakeupOrganizer, who showed that the lovely perles have landed to our shores earlier that expected! (November 2014) As you’ve seen before in my previous posts, I mentioned that this Météorites is part of my birthday wishlist and OH MY how happy I was when I get to have this early! So this Météorites is (obviously) LIMITED EDITION! Ugh. As always. The prettiest things are hard to get. LOL.
What They Say :
♥ These legendary pearls has been specially designed to enhance the complexion after nightfall under the lights of evening
♥ Has a delicate violet fragrance, inimitable and totally addictive
♥ Swirl your Météorites Pinceau (Météorites Brush) around the tin and apply the powder evenly to the entire face to set your make-up. For radiance boost, sweep it across your face by tracing a “g” from the center of the forehead towards the top of the cheekbone, then from the bridge of the nose towards the chin.
What I Say :
♥ These individual ‘meteorites’ being an illuminating face powder comes in 6 different colors – Alabaster, Pearlish White, Light Gold, Bronze, Rose and Deep Red.
♥ The pearls’ scent is totally lovely, however, if you’re not keen on scented makeups, you might wanna skip this one. But I don’t really mind having a scented product as long as the smell is heavenly and not too over.
♥ I used my Sephora Mineral Powder Brush to apply cause I haven’t had the chance to purchase the Météorites Pinceau (Météorites Brush) that is specifically made to pick up the powder.
In Comparison to : Guerlain Météorites Aquarella (Spring 2014 Collection)
♥ Both has warm undertones (IMO)
♥ Aquarella leans on the silvery side, while Perles D’Étoile stands on the red-ish side due to the rose & deep red pearls
♥ Perles D’Étoile seem to look more shimmery from the pearls, however it doesn’t show up as much when applied
♥ Aquarella is great to use for a radiant face powder, while Perles D’Étoile might look great on top of bronzer
♥ Perles D’Étoile is not as fragile as Aquarella, the latter tends to break apart easily in the tin
P.S. All swatches are done on my arm layered by NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Fiji** UPDATE**
